Customize Rain Sound Volume and Distance Settings

Access the Configuration File

Locate the Cool Rain Reforged config file in your .minecraft/config folder. Open it with a text editor to adjust how rain sounds behave in your world.

Adjust Sound Proximity and Loudness

The mod allows you to control how far away you can hear rain sounds and how loud they become based on your distance from blocks. Look for distance-based volume settings in the config—these determine the radius around you where rain sounds play at full intensity, and how quickly they fade as you move away.

Fine-Tune Block-Specific Audio

You can modify individual block sound profiles. If metal pinging is too loud during storms, or leaf rustling too quiet, adjust the volume multipliers for each block type. This lets you create a rain experience that matches your preference without disabling the mod entirely.

Save and Reload

After editing the config file, save your changes and reload your world or restart the game. The new settings will apply to all future rain events. Test different weather cycles to ensure the balance feels right for your playstyle.
