How to Navigate Menus and Inventories with a Controller

Moving Around Menus

Controlify maps cursor movement to the stick or D-pad so you can highlight buttons, sliders, and tabs without a mouse. Use the confirm button to click and the back button to exit a screen. In the inventory, the cursor snaps between slots, letting you pick up, place, and split stacks. Hold the modifier button (often a shoulder button) while pressing a direction to move whole stacks instead of single items.

Using the On-Screen Keyboard

When you need to type — naming a world, searching a recipe book, or chatting — Controlify brings up an on-screen keyboard you control with the stick and buttons. Select letters and confirm to type, use the shift key for capitals, and the backspace key to correct mistakes. This is essential for servers or any screen that expects text input.

Tips for Faster Inventory Work

Learn the quick-move button so you can shift items between your inventory and a chest in one press. The radial menu can also hold frequently used actions so you don't have to dig through screens. Practice in a creative world first — menu navigation feels slow at the start but becomes quick once the button layout is in muscle memory.
