Quick search method

When looking for a specific item, walk past your storage containers and hover your crosshair over each one. Read the tooltips to locate which container holds what you need.

Systematic searching

If you have many containers, search methodically. Start from one end of your storage room and work your way across. The tooltip appears instantly, so you can scan quickly without opening anything.

Organized storage advantage

If your storage is sorted by category, you can narrow down your search. Know you need wood? Check only the building materials section. Need food? Look only at the food storage area. This dramatically reduces search time.

Partial item stacks

Tooltips show all items in a container, including partial stacks. If you're looking for a specific item that might be scattered across multiple containers, the tooltip helps you identify every location where it's stored.
