Making Food Consumption Feel Instant on Multiplayer Servers
Even on a good connection, vanilla eating can feel slightly behind because your client waits for the server to acknowledge the action. Consumable Optimizer makes the whole process feel immediate, which matters most in PvP, boss fights, and any situation where a split second of healing decides the outcome.
What "instant" means here
The mod does not change how long food takes to eat in game ticks. Instead, it removes the network delay between finishing the eating animation and seeing the result. Your client stops waiting for the server's confirmation before removing the item and updating your hand, so the feedback is immediate. The server still validates the consumption, so you cannot eat faster than the game allows.
Practical steps for smoother eating
1. Install the mod client-side and launch the game.
2. Join a multiplayer server, ideally one with moderate to high ping.
3. Practice eating during combat or while sprinting to feel the difference.
4. Compare the timing to a session without the mod if you want to confirm the improvement.
5. Keep an eye on your hunger bar to make sure the server is still registering each meal.
Because the mod is client-side only, you can use it on any server without asking for permission, and it will not cause desync with other players. If you notice any inconsistency, test with vanilla food before blaming the mod.
