Troubleshoot Missing or Broken Config Screens
Why a Config Screen Isn't Appearing
Not all mods integrate with Config API Mod. If you don't see a config option for a mod, it likely uses a different configuration system. Check the mod's documentation to see if it has its own settings method.
Verify the Mod is Installed Correctly
1. Open your mods folder and confirm Config API Mod is present
2. Ensure the mod you're trying to configure is also installed
3. Check that both mods are compatible with your Minecraft version
4. Restart your game completely—sometimes the config system needs a fresh load
Config Screen Won't Load
If a config screen opens but appears broken or incomplete:
- Try scrolling within the screen to see if content is hidden
- Check if there's a search or filter function that might be hiding options
- Restart your game and try again
- Verify no conflicting mods are interfering
Manual Configuration as Fallback
If the config screen remains broken, you can usually edit the mod's configuration file directly. These are typically found in your .minecraft/config folder. However, use the GUI when possible to avoid errors.
