Combining Worker, Temperature, and Slotless Handlers in One Automation Setup

The real power of Common Capabilities appears when you combine its capabilities. A single automation line can check whether a machine can work, read its temperature, and move items in and out without slot assumptions.

Building the Combined Setup

1. Choose a processing machine that exposes the Worker capability and, if relevant, the Temperature capability.

2. Feed it with a transport that supports the Slotless Item Handler if the machine stores items internally without slots.

3. Add a reader for temperature if the machine can overheat or needs a heat threshold to run.

4. Add a reader for the work state so your input transport only pushes items when the machine can actually accept work.

5. Chain the outputs into the next machine, again using the appropriate handler type.

Why This Helps

Without these capabilities, each mod's automation has to guess. With them, your setup reacts to real machine state. The machine stops pulling when it is full, your cooling triggers when it is hot, and items flow into internal storage correctly.

Testing Tips

Run the line slowly at first. Watch each stage for jams. If one stage ignores the work state, that block likely does not implement Worker, so route around it or use a different block that does.
