Disable Bubble Rendering Through Blocks (Server-Side)

Understanding Block Occlusion

By default, chat bubbles render even when players are behind walls or underground. On servers, you can disable this so bubbles only appear when the player is directly visible—improving immersion and reducing visual spam in crowded areas.

Access Server Configuration

On your server, locate the Comics Bubbles Chat Mod config file in the server's config directory. Look for a setting related to rendering through blocks or line-of-sight.

Enable Block Occlusion

Find the option to disable bubble rendering when blocked by terrain and set it to enabled. This ensures bubbles only appear when there's a clear line of sight between the viewer and the player.

Restart the Server

Save your changes and restart the server for the setting to take effect.

Test the Behavior

Have a player go underground or behind a wall and send a message. Their bubble should no longer be visible from the other side of the block. Move to where you can see them directly, and the bubble reappears.
