Restore 1.8-Style Sword Combat

Understanding the Combat Changes

Combat Edit Mod removes the attack cooldown system introduced in 1.9+, letting you spam-click your sword as fast as your clicks allow. This restores the rapid, skill-based combat feel of 1.8.

How to Fight

1. Equip any sword from your inventory

2. Left-click rapidly on mobs or players — each click deals damage immediately with no cooldown delay

3. Hold a shield in your off-hand to block incoming damage, just like 1.8 mechanics

4. Strafe and click to land hits while dodging — the faster you click, the more damage you deal over time

Tips for Success

• Spam-clicking is now viable; practice rhythm to maximize DPS
• Shields still block damage but don't stun your attacks
• Knockback works on each hit, so rapid clicks push enemies back faster
• This applies to all sword types equally — choose based on durability or enchantments rather than attack speed stats
