Set Up the Shader for the Best Visual Experience
Adjust Your Game Settings
Before launching your world, optimize your Minecraft display for this shader:
1. Open your video settings and set Brightness to 0%. This is crucial—the shader is designed around minimal brightness and will look washed out otherwise.
2. Keep your Gamma at default (1.0) to maintain proper contrast in the grayscale world.
3. Ensure Fog is enabled in your shader options to get the atmospheric depth the mod provides.
Configure Shader Options
Access the shader settings through your mod menu:
1. Look for the shader configuration panel (usually in video settings or a dedicated shader menu).
2. Decide whether you want inverted colors enabled. By default it's on, but you can toggle this off if you prefer standard grayscale.
3. Choose your torch light color: keep it gray for consistency, or switch to warm orange for a more traditional torch feel.
4. Enable damage flash if you want the red light indicator when hurt—this helps you notice damage in combat.
These settings work together to create the classic old-movie aesthetic the shader is designed for. Adjust based on your preference and hardware performance.
