Apply Multiple Trims and Dyes to One Armor Piece

Layering Trims

You can apply multiple trim patterns to a single armor piece, each with its own dye color, creating complex and personalized designs.

1. Start with your base armor piece

2. Apply your first trim pattern with your chosen dye using the smithing table

3. Take the resulting trimmed and dyed armor

4. Return to the smithing table and use this piece as your input armor

5. Add a second trim pattern with a different dye

6. Repeat as desired for additional layers

Design Considerations

Each trim pattern occupies different areas of the armor, so layering creates intricate visual combinations. Plan which patterns complement each other visually. Some trim patterns may overlap slightly, so test combinations on less valuable armor first.

Limitations

While you can layer multiple trims, be aware that excessive layering may make armor visually cluttered. The smithing table will always produce valid results, but aesthetic balance is up to your preference.
