Understanding the Single-Row Colored Heart Layout

If you are used to vanilla's stacked rows of hearts, Colorful Hearts changes how you read your health. Instead of multiple rows, it consolidates everything into one row using colored hearts, where the color tells you which tier of health you are on.

How to Read Your Health

Each color in the row represents a band of health. As you take damage, hearts disappear from the end of the row, and the color of the remaining hearts tells you roughly how healthy you are. This means you judge your status by both the number of hearts and their color, not by counting rows.

Practical Tips

1. Pick colors that map to danger levels — for instance, green for high health and red for low — so a quick glance tells you when to retreat.

2. Remember absorption hearts still appear, and thanks to the mod's half-heart backgrounds they render cleanly even when only a half heart remains.

3. If the single row feels too compressed, adjust your GUI scale in video settings rather than changing the mod, since the layout itself is fixed.

Once you internalize the color-to-health mapping, reading your health becomes faster than counting individual hearts.
