How to Change Your Heart Colors in Colorful Hearts

The Colorful Hearts mod lets you recolor each row of hearts so you can tell your health tiers apart at a glance. All customization happens through the config file, not in-game menus.

Finding and Editing the Config

1. Locate the mod's config file in your Minecraft config folder. It is a plain text file, so any text editor works.

2. Open it and look for the entries that define heart colors. Each entry corresponds to a row of hearts and expects a hex color code in #RRGGBB format.

3. Replace the existing value with the color you want. For example, a soft green like #55FF55 or a deep red like #AA0000.

4. Save the file and restart the game so the changes load.

Choosing Colors That Read Well

Because the mod consolidates your health into a single row of colored hearts, adjacent colors should contrast enough that you can instantly judge how much health you have left. Avoid picking two very similar shades for neighboring rows. If a color looks wrong, the hex code is usually malformed — double-check the leading # and that you used exactly six digits. You can revert at any time by restoring the original values.
