Reduce Eye Strain During Long Play Sessions
Slow Down Color Transitions
Rapid color cycling can cause fatigue. Increase the cycle timer in shader options so transitions happen less frequently. This gives your eyes more time to adjust to each palette before the next shift begins.
Enable Smooth Transitions
The shader's slow blend feature is designed to prevent jarring color snaps. Ensure this is enabled in your settings—it gradually shifts colors rather than flashing them instantly, reducing visual shock.
Choose Stable Color Modes
Some modes are gentler than others. Modes that desaturate red or blend blue-green tend to create less contrast than warm-cool modes. Experiment to find which palette feels most comfortable for extended play.
Take Regular Breaks
Even with shader adjustments, take breaks every hour or so. Step away from the screen to let your eyes rest. The shader is lightweight and won't cause performance strain, but the color changes themselves require visual processing.
Adjust Brightness Settings
If the shader makes your world too bright or too dark, adjust your monitor brightness or in-game brightness slider alongside shader settings for a more comfortable experience.
