Configuring CodeChickenLib Settings and ASM Systems
What Configuration Files Do
CodeChickenLib stores settings in configuration files that control how the library operates. These files let you enable or disable advanced features, adjust performance options, and manage compatibility systems.
Finding and Editing Configs
Configuration files appear in your .minecraft/config folder after you run the mod once. Look for files related to CodeChickenLib or the specific mods using it. Open these with a text editor—they use standard Minecraft config syntax.
ASM and Compatibility
CodeChickenLib includes ASM (bytecode modification) systems that patch Minecraft's code to add new functionality. These patches allow legacy mods to work in newer versions and enable features that wouldn't be possible otherwise. You typically don't need to adjust ASM settings unless you're troubleshooting compatibility issues.
Performance Tuning
If you experience lag, check config files for rendering or caching options. Disabling unnecessary features can improve performance, though most defaults are optimized for typical gameplay. Consult individual mod documentation for specific tuning advice.
