Upgrade Your Modpack to Minecraft 1.11+

Understanding the Transition

CodeChicken Core Mod was designed for older Minecraft versions. Starting with version 1.11, its functionality was merged directly into CodeChickenLib, a more modern library. If you're updating your modpack, you need to know which to use.

Migration Process

1. For Minecraft 1.10 and earlier: Continue using CodeChicken Core Mod as normal. It remains the standard shared library.

2. For Minecraft 1.11 and newer: Replace CodeChicken Core Mod with CodeChickenLib. Remove the Core Mod file from your mods folder and add CodeChickenLib instead.

3. Test your modpack after switching. CodeChickenLib provides the same crash prevention and shared systems, just in a newer format.

4. Check mod compatibility with your target version. Some older utility mods may not work on 1.11+.

Why the Change?

CodeChickenLib is better optimized for modern Minecraft and integrates more smoothly with newer systems. You don't lose any functionality—you gain better performance and stability.
