Understand What CodeChicken Core Mod Does
Core Purpose
CodeChicken Core Mod is a library mod—it doesn't add gameplay content. Instead, it provides shared code that other mods depend on. Think of it as a foundation that prevents mods from building conflicting systems.
What It Solves
- Prevents crashes when multiple mods modify the same game systems
- Standardizes code so mods can coexist without rewriting each other's changes
- Reduces file size by letting mods share common routines instead of each including their own
- Simplifies mod development by providing tested base systems
What It Doesn't Do
- Add blocks, items, or mobs
- Create new gameplay mechanics
- Require configuration or player interaction
- Show up in creative mode inventory
How to Know It's Working
You won't see obvious signs. The mod succeeds silently by letting your other mods run together without crashing. If your utility mods work smoothly and your game doesn't crash, CodeChicken Core Mod is doing its job. For newer versions (1.11+), this functionality exists in CodeChickenLib instead.
