Set Up and Play Double Battles

Enabling Double Battle Format

Double battles pit four Pokémon (two per side) against each other, adding strategic depth through positioning and multi-target moves.

1. Open the custom battle menu

2. Select Double Battle as your format

3. Configure your rules (species bans, level caps, clauses) as you would for singles

4. Invite your opponent or accept a double battle challenge

Playing Double Battles

1. Both players send out two Pokémon at the start

2. Each turn, choose moves for both your active Pokémon

3. Pay attention to positioning—moves like Protect, Earthquake, and Surf affect different targets

4. The battle screen shows all four Pokémon with their stat changes clearly labeled

5. Hold Shift to see which moves hit which opponents

6. When a Pokémon faints, send in your replacement

Double battles are available in both casual matches and tournament formats. Both players need the mod installed to access this feature.
