How to Get Loot Instead of Pokémon from Rustling Spots

By default, Rustling Spots can yield either a Pokémon encounter or themed loot. If you specifically want item rewards, you can bias the outcome through configuration.

Adjusting the Loot Chance

Open the mod's config file and find the setting that controls the loot-versus-Pokémon chance. Raising the loot side of this value makes loot outcomes more common when you step on a spot. Save and reload for it to take effect. On a server, only the host's config matters.

Understanding Themed Families

Loot is organized into nine themed families, meaning different spots can drop different categories of items rather than a single generic pool. The theme is tied to the spot, so the reward you get depends on which family that spot belongs to. Step on spots and observe the drops to learn which themes appear in your area.

Practical Notes

  • Loot spots still use the same particle and sound cues, so you can't tell loot from Pokémon before stepping on it unless you change the chance.
  • If you want a pure loot experience, set the chance fully toward loot.
  • Combine this with spawn rate and lifetime tweaks to make farming loot spots efficient — more spots, longer lifetime, higher loot chance.
  • No world generation changes are involved, so this works on existing worlds safely.
