How to Find and Trigger Rustling Spots in Cobblemon

Rustling Spots are temporary event tiles that appear naturally around you as you explore. You don't craft or place them — you find them.

Spotting a Rustling Spot

Watch for animated particles and a distinct ambient rustling sound near grass or vegetation. The tile itself looks like disturbed foliage. Spots spawn within a configurable radius around players, so simply walking through wild areas is the main way to encounter them. They have a limited lifetime, so if you see one, approach promptly before it despawns.

Triggering the Encounter

Step directly onto the tile. Interaction is instant — no key press required. Depending on the spot's configuration, you'll either get a Pokémon encounter or themed loot. Nine themed families exist, so the reward type varies by spot.

Practical Tips

  • Explore actively rather than standing still; spots spawn around moving players.
  • If you're hunting a specific outcome, check your config for the loot-vs-Pokémon chance.
  • Spots work in both singleplayer and multiplayer, so on servers coordinate with others to avoid racing to the same tile.
  • Modded biomes are supported, so explore modded terrain too — spots integrate there as well.
