How to Configure Rustling Spot Spawn Rate, Lifetime, and Distance

The mod is fully configurable, letting you tune how often spots appear, how long they last, and how far from players they spawn. This is useful if you want a denser exploration loop or a rarer, more special event.

Finding the Config

Locate the mod's config file in your instance's config folder. Open it with a text editor. The options are grouped by behavior: spawn rate, lifetime, spawn distance, loot-vs-Pokémon chance, and shiny odds.

What Each Setting Does

  • Spawn rate controls how frequently new spots appear around players. Higher values mean more tiles.
  • Lifetime controls how long a spot persists before despawning. Short lifetimes make encounters feel urgent; long ones let you backtrack.
  • Spawn distance sets the radius around players where spots can appear. Larger radii spread spots further out.
  • Loot vs Pokémon chance decides the split between item rewards and Pokémon encounters.
  • Shiny odds adjusts the chance a triggered Pokémon is shiny.

Applying Changes

Save the file and reload the world or restart the game, depending on your setup. On servers, the config is server-side, so the host's settings apply to all players. There are no world generation changes, so you can adjust these freely on existing worlds without corrupting terrain.
