How to Mega Evolve Your Pokémon in Battle

Gather Your Items

To Mega Evolve, you need two things: a Key Stone and a Mega Stone that matches your Pokémon's species. Key Stones come in the form of accessories like bracelets, rings, cuffs, or charms—equip one to your player character. Give your Pokémon the corresponding Mega Stone as a held item.

Trigger Mega Evolution

During battle, when it's your turn to act, you'll see a Mega Evolution option appear alongside your normal move choices (if your Pokémon is eligible). Select it to transform your Pokémon into its Mega form for that battle.

Special Cases

Rayquaza is unique—it can Mega Evolve without a Mega Stone if it knows the move Dragon Ascent. Simply have the move in its moveset and a Key Stone equipped.

If your mod is configured to allow it, you may also trigger Mega Evolution outside of combat for viewing or other purposes. Check with your server administrator about this setting.

Getting Items

Use /genesis giveMegaStone <player> <mega-stone> to obtain specific Mega Stones, or find them through normal gameplay progression.
