Fixing a Pokemon Spawner That Is Not Working

The most common reason a Pokemon Spawner appears broken is that it has no Pokemon assigned, or the space around it is invalid. Work through these checks in order before assuming the mod is at fault.

Spawner-side checks

Interact with the block and confirm a Pokemon is actually configured. An empty spawner does nothing, and it is easy to place the block and forget the entry. Next, check for a redstone signal. If the spawner is powered, it may be disabled; remove any lever, button, or redstone dust feeding into it. Finally, break and replace the block to clear a stuck state, then re-enter the Pokemon.

World-side checks

Look at the space around the spawner. Pokemon need valid ground to stand on and open air to appear in. Fill holes, remove water and lava, and clear leaves or other blocks that could block spawning. Check that you are not standing right on top of the spawner, since some setups require the player to be at a distance. On a server, confirm that mob spawning is enabled and that another mod or a datapack is not overriding spawn rules. If you are running a modpack, test the spawner in a fresh superflat world to rule out pack conflicts.
