Set Up a Lava-Water System Without Cobblestone Generation
Understanding the Core Change
With Cobble Gen Haters Mod installed, flowing lava will no longer turn into cobblestone or stone when it contacts water. This opens up new design possibilities for fluid systems that would normally auto-generate blocks.
Building a Safe Lava Channel
1. Dig a trench or channel where you want lava to flow
2. Place water source blocks or flowing water adjacent to or above where lava will travel
3. Pour lava into your channel—it will flow normally without solidifying
4. The lava remains as a flowing liquid, allowing you to:
- Create decorative lava features
- Build lava moats that don't fill with stone
- Design custom fluid transport systems
Practical Applications
This is especially useful for:
- Custom map builds where you want lava aesthetics without block generation
- Modpack designs that prevent infinite resource loops
- Building lava-based traps or barriers that maintain their appearance
Remember: the mod only prevents the *generation* of new blocks. Existing cobblestone and stone blocks are unaffected.
