Climate Rivers Mod Guide
How Climate Rivers Changes World Generation
Minecraft normally generates a single river biome regardless of where a river runs. The Climate Rivers Mod replaces that default with three variants: warm, lukewarm, and cold. Which one appears depends on the climate of the surrounding terrain, so a river flowing through a warm region becomes a warm river, while one in a cold region becomes a cold river.
The practical effect is visual consistency. Because each river variant is tied to its neighbouring biome, the blocks and foliage along the banks fit the landscape instead of clashing with it. You will not see warm-climate river features sitting beside snowy terrain, or cold river features cutting through a jungle.
There are no new items, blocks, or recipes to learn. The mod only changes how rivers are selected during world generation, so it works passively in the background. Existing worlds keep their already-generated rivers; the new variants appear in terrain generated after the mod is installed. This makes it a lightweight choice for players who want more believable landscapes without altering gameplay.
