Turn Off Darkness Effect Overlay

Access Configuration Menu

Open Clearviews Mod settings from your pause menu or main menu.

Locate Darkness Settings

Find the darkness overlay option in the list. The darkness effect appears as a heavy black vignette that creeps inward from the screen edges, typically triggered by the Warden or darkness potions in newer Minecraft versions.

Disable Darkness Overlay

Toggle off the darkness overlay setting. This removes the encroaching black effect from your screen, giving you clear vision even when the darkness status effect is active.

Save and Test

Confirm your changes. Encounter a darkness-inducing source (like a Warden in the Deep Dark) to verify the overlay is gone. You'll maintain full visibility while still experiencing any other mechanical effects of the status.

Gameplay Impact

Removing the darkness overlay makes Deep Dark exploration and Warden encounters significantly less visually oppressive, though the threat remains mechanically intact.
