Travel to the Farlands and Survive the Terrain
Getting There
The Farlands begin at extreme coordinates (X or Z at 12,550,821 and beyond). Use creative mode flight, a fast horse, or elytra to cover the massive distance quickly. Bring a nether portal to skip travel time—you can move faster through the Nether, then return to the Overworld at your destination.
What to Expect
As you approach the Farlands edge, you'll encounter Monolith formations—towering, chaotic structures made of random blocks. These mark the boundary before the terrain becomes completely broken.
Once in the true Farlands, terrain generation becomes erratic. Blocks stack impossibly, creating floating islands, inverted caves, and walls that defy normal physics. Gravity and collision may behave unexpectedly.
Survival Tips
- Bring plenty of blocks for building safe platforms
- Watch your footing—terrain is unpredictable and falls are common
- Use F3 (or equivalent) to monitor your exact coordinates
- Consider keeping a bed or respawn anchor nearby
- The broken terrain exists in all three dimensions, so the Nether and End are equally chaotic at extreme distances
