Maximize God Rays and Underwater Lighting Effects
Find Underwater Effects Settings
Open the Iris shader menu and search for volumetric lighting, god rays, or underwater-specific options in the CineReal configuration.
Enable and Adjust God Ray Intensity
God rays are bright light shafts visible when swimming underwater. Increase intensity to make them more prominent and dramatic, especially during daytime. High intensity creates a stunning cinematic effect but may reduce visibility of distant blocks.
Control Ray Density and Spread
Density settings determine how thick the light shafts appear, while spread controls how wide they fan out. Dense, narrow rays feel more realistic, while sparse, wide rays create a softer, more atmospheric look.
Optimize for Performance
God rays are computationally expensive. If you experience frame drops while underwater, reduce ray density or disable the effect entirely. Test by diving deep into water during midday when the sun is brightest.
Combine with Water Fog Settings
God rays work best when paired with appropriate water fog distance. If fog is too thick, rays disappear; if too thin, they lack atmosphere. Adjust both settings together for the best underwater cinematic experience.
