Troubleshoot Visual Artifacts and Performance Issues

Identify Common Visual Problems

If you notice banding (visible color stripes), flickering shadows, or washed-out colors, these often stem from incompatible shader settings or conflicting mods. Start by resetting CineDream Plus to default settings and reapply changes gradually.

Reduce Intensive Features

If frame rate drops significantly, disable or lower: shadow distance, shadow resolution, bloom intensity, and ambient occlusion. These features create the cinematic look but demand more GPU resources.

Check Compatibility

Ensure your graphics driver is up to date. CineDream Plus works best with modern GPUs. If using other visual mods (like texture packs or lighting mods), disable them to isolate conflicts.

Adjust Render Distance Carefully

The mod's lighting calculations extend across your render distance. If performance suffers, reduce render distance slightly—this has a larger impact than shader settings alone.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch FPS while adjusting settings. Make one change at a time to identify which setting causes performance issues.
