How to Make Chunks Load Smoothly Without Stutter
Understand What the Mod Does and Does Not Fix
Chunks Fade In smooths the visual appearance of chunks as they arrive; it does not increase how fast your game generates or loads them. If you are seeing stutter, the animation is often just making an existing performance problem more visible. The goal is to keep the fade pleasant while keeping frame time stable.
Reduce the Visual Cost
Open the mod config and shorten the animation duration, or pick the simplest fade style. Long, elaborate transitions keep more chunks in a partially-rendered state for longer, which can cost frames on weaker hardware. A short fade still hides the pop-in but finishes quickly.
Pair It With Render Distance Settings
Lower your render distance by one or two steps and see whether the fade becomes smoother. Chunks that are already loaded do not animate, so the fewer new chunks you force at once, the cleaner the effect. If you use a chunk-loading optimisation mod, make sure it is compatible and not fighting the animation.
Check for Conflicts
Other chunk-rendering mods (especially older chunk animator-style mods) can conflict with Chunks Fade In. Disable any duplicate animation mod, restart, and test again. If stutter persists with the mod disabled entirely, the cause is elsewhere and the fade is not to blame.
