How to Fix Chunks Fade In Not Working or Not Showing Animations

First Checks

If chunks appear instantly with no fade, confirm the mod is actually loaded on the mod list screen and that its config has not been set to an instant/none animation. Also confirm you are not running a second chunk-animation mod that overrides it.

Mod Menu and Config Access

Many players cannot find the settings because Mod Menu is missing. Install Mod Menu so the config button appears next to Chunks Fade In in the mod list. Without it, you may need to edit the config file directly in your instance's config folder, then restart the game.

Version and Loader Mismatch

A common cause of "nothing happens" is a build of the mod that does not match your Minecraft version or mod loader. Remove the mismatched file, install the correct build for your version, and relaunch. Check the log for errors mentioning the mod; a failed mixin or class-load error means the mod is not running at all.

Conflicts With Other Rendering Mods

Sodium, OptiFine, and similar rendering overhauls can change how chunks are uploaded and may suppress the animation. Test with only Chunks Fade In and its dependencies enabled. If the fade returns, re-add your rendering mods one at a time to find the conflict, then check whether a compatibility setting exists.
