Finding Why Chunks Won't Load or Unload

Understanding Chunk Tickets

Chunks stay loaded because of tickets—permissions granted by the game or mods. If a chunk refuses to unload, a ticket is holding it in memory.

1. Open the chunk map display

2. Locate the problematic chunk visually or by navigating to its coordinates

3. Select the chunk to view its detailed information panel

4. Check the Tickets section—this shows what's keeping the chunk loaded

5. Each ticket displays its source (e.g., a mod, player action, or game mechanic) and type

Taking Action

Once you identify the ticket holder:

  • If it's a mod, check that mod's configuration for chunk-loading settings
  • If it's a player-placed block (like a chunk loader), locate and remove it
  • If it's a natural game mechanic, consider whether the chunk needs to stay loaded for your setup

Use this information to diagnose lag caused by excessive chunk loading or to understand why your chunk loaders aren't working as expected.
