Getting Started with Chloride

Chloride is an add-on for Sodium, so it works alongside Sodium rather than replacing it. Once installed, it boosts FPS and reduces lag through entity and block culling, leaves culling, and faster rendering of animated models like chests and beds. Culling can be tuned with whitelists, letting you keep certain mobs such as ghasts or dragons always visible.

Beyond performance, Chloride adds visual and utility options. True Darkness offers several depth levels so you can make nights genuinely dark. You can hide JEI or REI overlays until you need them, hide name tags, and toggle an FPS overlay. A built-in zoom key gives you a quick magnifier without a separate mod, and borderless fullscreen plus fog customization round out the display settings.

Everything is lightweight and configurable, so you can enable only the features you want and leave the rest at default.
