How to Automate or Speed Up Chiseling
Pre-Carve in Bulk
Carving blocks one at a time in the world is slow. A better workflow is to carve a large batch before you start building. Place a stack of the base block, carve each one into the variant you want, and collect the results. Repeat until you have enough of each variant, then build with them like any other block.
Use Sneak-Click for Cycling
If you only need to step through a few variants, sneak-right-clicking cycles to the next variant without opening the full menu. This is faster than opening the screen and clicking when you just want the next option.
Organize Your Variants
Because variants often look similar, store them in labeled chests or shulker boxes by variant type. Mixing them up mid-build is a common frustration. If you play with others, agree on a naming or color-coding scheme for storage.
Check for Modded Automation
Some versions of the Chisel and its add-ons may provide ways to apply variants in bulk or via other tools. Check the items available in your version of the mod — if a block or machine exists for mass chiseling, it will save significant time on large projects. If you are unsure whether such a feature exists, test by placing the block and interacting with it.
