Getting Started with Chill Shaders

Installation and Setup

Chill Shaders requires Iris and Sodium mods to run. Install both mods first, then add Chill Shaders to your shader packs folder. The pack is lightweight and designed to run smoothly without demanding high-end hardware.

Once active, you'll notice gentle lighting adjustments throughout your world. Soft shadows add depth to block surfaces without creating harsh contrasts. Water becomes reflective, mirroring the sky and nearby terrain for a more dynamic look. The shader maintains Minecraft's vanilla aesthetic—the classic blocky style remains recognizable and clean.

Day and night cycles gain a calm, atmospheric quality. The cozy visual tone works well for exploration, building, and casual play sessions. If performance dips, check your Sodium settings to optimize frame rates.
