Compare First-Person and Third-Person Tool Views

Understanding the Model Differences

This mod redesigns how tools look both when you hold them and when others see you holding them. The 3D models appear differently depending on your viewing angle.

How to Compare

1. Equip any tool (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, or mace) in your main hand.

2. Look at your hand in first-person view—you'll see the tool's thick, blocky shape from your perspective.

3. Switch to third-person view by pressing F5 (or your configured third-person key) to see how the tool appears to other players.

4. Try different tools to notice how each has a unique solid profile.

5. For spears specifically, equip one and watch the model shift into a custom combat grip when held.

Why It Matters

First-person and third-person models are designed separately to feel natural from each angle. Combat tools like swords and maces show aggressive stances in third-person, while utility tools like pickaxes and shovels maintain balanced poses. Checking both views helps you appreciate the full detail the mod adds to your equipment.
