Transition from Vanilla Egg Farming to Mod Mechanics

Understand the Core Change

In vanilla Minecraft, chickens randomly drop eggs over time. This mod removes that mechanic entirely—eggs only come from breeding. This means your old passive egg farms won't work anymore.

Dismantle Passive Farms

If you have an existing chicken farm that relied on random egg drops, it's now obsolete. Collect your chickens and repurpose the space for an active breeding farm instead.

Adapt Your Early Game Strategy

Early-game chicken farming now requires more active participation. You must breed chickens intentionally using seeds rather than waiting for eggs to accumulate. Plan for this extra step when gathering food.

Rebuild for Breeding

Design your new farm around breeding pairs and egg collection. Create pens that make it easy to access chickens and distribute seeds. Consider building multiple small pens rather than one large enclosure.

Adjust Your Timeline

Expect slower initial egg production compared to vanilla. This makes early-game progression slightly longer but more intentional and engaging.
