Set Up Your First Chicken Farm
Gather Initial Resources
Start by collecting seeds from grass or crops—you'll need these to breed chickens instead of waiting for random egg drops. Find at least two chickens in the world (usually near villages or in open areas).
Create a Breeding Enclosure
Build a simple pen using fences or walls to contain your chickens. Make sure there's enough space for them to move around, and consider adding a roof to prevent them from escaping. Leave an opening for you to enter and exit easily.
Begin Breeding
With two chickens in your pen and seeds in your hand, right-click each chicken with seeds (just like breeding other animals in vanilla Minecraft). They will enter love mode and produce eggs.
Collect and Hatch Eggs
Pickup the eggs that drop from breeding. Place them on a solid block or let them fall naturally—eggs will hatch into chicks after a short time. Each egg has a chance to produce a chick, so you may need to breed multiple times to build your flock.
Scale Up
Once you have several chicks growing into adults, breed them together to increase your population. More breeding pairs means more eggs and faster flock growth.
