Track Items in Custom Containers and Barrels

What Gets Tracked Automatically

Chest Tracker monitors standard storage blocks like chests, barrels, and shulker boxes by default. Custom containers added by other mods are also supported, though compatibility depends on how the mod implements its storage system.

Confirming a Container is Being Tracked

Open any storage container. If the mod is tracking it, you'll see the container's name displayed above it in the world (if custom names are enabled in settings). Items you place inside will be added to the search database immediately.

Naming Your Containers

Use a name tag or the container's built-in naming feature to give it a descriptive label. Chest Tracker will display this name and use it in search results, making it easier to organize large storage networks.

Checking Tracked Containers

Open the search menu and look for the container list or statistics panel. This shows all containers the mod is currently monitoring and how many unique items each holds.

Troubleshooting Missing Containers

If a custom container isn't being tracked, check that the mod's compatibility settings include that container type, or verify the container was placed after the mod was loaded.
