Track Items Through Storage and Trading on Multiplayer Servers
Preserving Origin Data in Storage
Origin metadata survives storage and transfers:
1. Place items in shulker boxes or ender chests—the origin card remains attached
2. Stack items freely—items with different origins still stack together without losing data
3. The origin card persists even after closing and reopening the world
This means you can organize loot across multiple storage blocks and still trace each item's source later.
Tracking Traded Items on Servers
When you trade or receive items from other players:
1. The original finder's name appears on the origin card
2. Coordinates and source structure remain visible (unless your server admin has disabled coordinate display)
3. Hover over received items to see who found them and where they came from
This creates a complete transaction history for multiplayer worlds, letting you verify the authenticity of rare loot and understand the journey of items through your community. Server administrators can restrict sensitive data like coordinates or player names if desired, so visibility depends on your server's configuration.
