How to Control Chef's Delight Village House Generation with the Config File
Why Edit the Config
Chef's Delight adds village houses tied to its Cook and Chef
professions. By default these generate randomly and can differ per biome. If you want more of them, fewer of them, or none at all, you change that through the mod's config file.
Finding and Editing the File
1. Open your Minecraft config folder. This is inside your game instance directory, not inside a world save.
2. Locate the file named chefsdelightconfig.properties.
3. Open it with any plain text editor.
4. Find the setting that controls how many houses generate. The file is organised so generation is randomised and can vary between biomes.
5. Set the value to 0 if you do not want any Chef's Delight houses to generate at all. Use a higher number to allow more houses.
6. Save the file.
Applying the Change
You must restart the game for the config change to take effect. Editing the file while the game is running will not apply it.
Notes
- Config changes affect newly generated chunks and villages, not ones you have already explored.
- This generation feature is still in testing, so behaviour may vary between worlds.
