How to Find Blocks and Ores with CheatUtils Block Finder / XRay

CheatUtils includes a Block Finder (often called XRay) that highlights or reveals blocks you care about, such as ores, chests, or spawners. It's useful for mining efficiently or locating hidden structures.

Setting Up the Block Finder

Open the CheatUtils menu and enable the Block Finder or XRay feature. You'll typically configure a list of block types to search for. Add the ores or blocks you want to locate. Once enabled, blocks in your list become visible through terrain, or are highlighted, depending on the mode you pick.

Working Around Server Protection

Some servers try to defeat XRay by telling clients that ores are everywhere or nowhere. CheatUtils handles this by focusing on blocks that touch air, since those are still genuinely visible to the client. This means spawners, chests, and exposed ores tend to show up reliably even when hidden ores are faked. If results look wrong, try toggling the air-contact option.

Tips

  • Keep your block list short for better performance.
  • Combine with Full Bright so revealed areas aren't dark.
  • Disable it when not needed to reduce lag.
