Share a Video from the Web into Chat

Using a Direct Video Link

To send a playable video directly into chat from a web URL:

1. Copy the full URL of your video file (must be mp4, webm, mov, mkv, m4v, or avi)

2. Open chat and type: /chatupgrade sendvideo <url>

3. Replace <url> with your copied link

4. Press Enter

The video will render as an inline player in the chat message, visible to all players who receive it.

Uploading a Local Video File

If your video is saved locally on your computer:

1. Type /chatupgrade uploadvideo pick to open your system file picker

2. Navigate to and select your video file

3. The mod will upload it based on your current upload mode setting

4. Once processed, the video appears as a playable embed in chat

Alternatively, use /chatupgrade uploadvideo folder if you know the exact folder path, or /chatupgrade uploadvideo paste if you've copied video file data to your clipboard.

Checking Upload Status

If videos fail to upload, verify that FFmpeg is installed by running /chatupgrade plugin status. If needed, download helper libraries with /chatupgrade plugin download.
