Mine in 3×3 or staircase patterns instead of full veins
Switching Mining Modes
Chain Vein Mod includes alternative mining patterns beyond full vein extraction. You can toggle between modes to suit different situations.
Available modes:
- Full Vein — mines the entire connected ore deposit
- 3×3 — mines a 3-block-wide square in front of you
- Staircase Up — mines blocks in a diagonal staircase pattern ascending upward
- Staircase Down — mines blocks in a diagonal staircase pattern descending downward
How to change modes
Look for the mod's configuration menu or keybind settings (usually accessible via mod menu or in-game settings). Assign different keys to each mode, or use a mode-cycle keybind if available.
Once set:
1. Press your chosen keybind for the desired mode
2. Look at the ore block you want to start from
3. The pattern will mine relative to where you're facing
Use cases: 3×3 for quick tunnel mining, staircases for descending into caves while gathering ore.
