How to Use Freelook in Minecraft

Looking Around Without Changing Direction

Celibistrial's Freelook Mod separates where you look from where you move. Normally, turning your view also turns your character, so you can only see what is in front of you while walking. With this mod, you can hold or press a keybind to move your head freely while your character keeps traveling in the same direction.

This is useful for checking what is behind or beside you without stopping or turning around. You can glance at a mob, a landmark, or a drop-off while still walking forward. The mod works whether you are moving or standing still, so you can also use it to scan your surroundings from one spot.

When you release the key, your view snaps back to normal, and your character's facing direction is unchanged. The keybind is the only control you need: hold or press it to enter freelook, release it to return.
