Setting Up a Base Inside an Existing Outpost

Choosing a Suitable Structure

Not all outposts work equally well as bases. Look for structures with multiple rooms, solid roofs to protect from environmental hazards, and existing storage or crafting areas. Larger towers and research stations typically offer more space than small shelters. Ensure the location has adequate room for expansion if needed.

Securing and Modifying Your Space

Clear out any mob spawners if the structure contains them—these are common in outposts and will spawn hostile mobs. Seal off unnecessary entrances and windows to control access. Add your own doors, chests, and crafting stations to make the space functional. Reinforce weak walls or repair damage from environmental wear.

Establishing Supply Lines

Once settled, mark the route between your outpost base and your main ship or other key locations. Stock the outpost with food, oxygen, and emergency supplies. Consider building a beacon or light tower nearby to make the structure easier to locate during dust storms or low visibility conditions on planets like Mars or Venus.
