Harvesting Materials from Outpost Structures
Identifying Harvestable Blocks
Outposts are built from varied materials depending on their planetary location and theme. Common blocks include stone bricks, mossy cobblestone, copper blocks, nether bricks, and purple bricks. Each structure also contains decorative elements like lanterns and ore blocks. Before mining, assess what's load-bearing versus decorative—removing structural supports may cause the building to collapse.
Safe Extraction Strategy
Start by harvesting decorative blocks and ores from the exterior and upper levels. Work downward and inward to avoid destabilizing the structure. Use appropriate tools: a pickaxe for stone variants, an axe for wood if present. Bring a hopper or collection system if you're planning large-scale harvesting.
Respecting Structure Integrity
If you want to preserve the outpost as a landmark or shelter, only take surplus materials. Leave the core architecture intact so the building remains functional for future visits or as a navigation reference point across the planetary surface.
