Finding and Navigating Outposts on New Planets
Locating Structures After Landing
When you first arrive on a celestial body, structures won't be marked on your map automatically. Instead, explore methodically from your landing site by traveling in expanding circles or grid patterns. Look for visual landmarks: tall towers, glowing ore deposits, or architectural features that contrast with the natural terrain. Structures are distributed across each planet, so persistence pays off.
Using Outposts as Navigation Hubs
Once you spot a structure, use it as a waypoint. Mark its location mentally or with a beacon so you can return for shelter, supplies, or as a reference point for further exploration. Many outposts contain useful blocks and materials you can harvest. Since structures spawn in themed locations—research stations on barren moons, bases in canyons—learning these patterns helps you predict where to search next.
Preparing for Exploration
Bring adequate oxygen, food, and tools before venturing far from your ship. Outposts can be several hundred blocks away from spawn. Having a clear goal—like reaching three structures in one expedition—makes exploration more efficient and rewarding.
