Create Dynamic Textures That Change When Sneaking

Understand Action-Based Texture Switching

Catharsis Mod can detect when you perform actions like sneaking and trigger texture changes in your resource pack. This allows armor, items, or blocks to transform based on your player state.

Set Up Sneak-Triggered Textures

1. Load a resource pack with sneak-state predicates in its model files

2. These predicates tell the mod to swap textures when you hold Shift

3. Press Shift to sneak—your equipped items or armor will visually change

4. Release Shift to return to normal textures

Common Uses

  • Armor variants: Show a different armor design when sneaking
  • Weapon poses: Change how a sword or bow appears in hand
  • Visual effects: Reveal hidden details or glow effects during sneak

The mod continuously monitors your sneak state and applies the correct texture variant in real-time. This works without lag and applies to any item or armor piece your pack defines sneak rules for.
