Walk through the various villages on the map to find a suitable area for your base. The map includes multiple settlement options: some feature dark wooden houses on raised stone platforms, while others cluster around central fountains. Consider proximity to resources like the wheat farms and windmill areas.

Claim and Modify a Structure

Select an existing wooden house or stone building that appeals to you. You can modify the interior by adding your own chests, furnaces, and crafting tables. The raised platform houses offer good defensive positioning, while the forest cottages provide a more secluded atmosphere.

Establish Supply Lines

Once you've chosen your base, note nearby resource locations. The wheat farms provide easy food access. The docks area offers wood from the ship and surrounding structures. Mark paths between your base and key locations using torches or your own markers to navigate efficiently at night when the lanterns provide limited light.
