Customizing Castle Generation with Datapacks

Datapack Configuration Basics

Castle Shift Mod allows datapack customization to control how castles generate in your world:

  • Spawn spacing determines how far apart castles appear—adjust this to make them rarer or more frequent.
  • Separation distance controls minimum distance between individual fortresses, preventing overcrowding.
  • Biome filters let you restrict castle generation to specific biomes or allow them everywhere.

Implementing Changes

  • Locate your datapack folder in your world directory (usually datapacks/).
  • Edit configuration files according to the mod's datapack documentation—settings are typically in JSON format.
  • Reload your world after changes using /reload command to apply new generation rules.
  • Test in a new world first to ensure settings work as intended before applying to an existing save.

Common Customizations

Players often adjust datapacks to:

  • Make castles spawn only in specific biomes (like mountains or plains).
  • Increase spacing for a more exploration-focused experience.
  • Decrease spacing for a densely fortified world.

Always back up your world before modifying datapacks.
